This horn has a gold brass bell, flare, branches and lead pipe. Gold brass is a high copper content brass, typically about 85% copper and 15% zinc. When used in French Horns, it produces a slightly darker sound than the yellow brass. Because of the high copper content, it is highly resistant to dezincification, a form of corrosion.
